Compatibility
airpim is a cloud application you can use with your pc or minipc and your Android smartphone, soon it will also be available for iPhone, and Blackberry. Right now on your smartphone there are many airpim features that work very well but other essential features, for example "the original card builder airpim", doesn't work. In the meantime you can use airpim with: Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer 8, Safari, Chrome.
Registration
Registration on airpim.com is free, the following data are requested: name, surname, date of birth and email address. To securely access airpim you need to choose and type a “User Name” and a “Password”, which you will have to re-type in order to confirm. Very important: remember your user name and password for future access! If you forget your "User Name" write to help@airpim.com
After the registration request
airpim will send you an e-mail to confirme the activation request. Click on the link to activate your airpim profile.
At this point you can access the service using your user name and password any time you want.
When you activate your account, airpim will automatically create a Public Business Card (visible only by airpim users) indicating the name and surname of the person or the name of the company. The public business card can be viewed in the CARDS section, where it can be completed, modified or removed.
Now you can begin to create your digital business cards in order to give visibility to your data: you can decide what you show and to whom. Access the SEARCH section and find the contacts (digital business cards) that interest you.
Take the digital business cards you have found and memorise them in the RELATIONS section, adding, if you wish, a short description of your relationship with the person in question in the NOTES field.
Digital business cards creation
Go to CARDS section, where you should find the public business card that was automatically created when you registered your Account, you can modify that one or choose to create a new one. The best thing to do is to click on any resource and modify it clicking on the "carbage can" that means "delete", on the "magnet" that means "group elements" -"ungroup elements" to delete a title of a resource or to add a resourse to another.
The New card function enables you to:
- choose a card model to generate: "BASE", "SIMPLE","EXTENDED" ;
- You can now insert the information you want to put in that card.
- When you are satisfied of your work with the card, you can go down the page and insert some Key Words for being found by the others
- At least you can decide whether the card is “Private” or “Public” or for "Related-Members". "Private" means cards only visible by you; "Public" means cards visible in the airpim world, but not in internet; “Related-members” means card only visible to those whose cards are archived in one of the chosen categories: each “category”* can be associated with one or more cards created; these cards will only be visible to those who are filed under the respective category.
*category: business, friends, culture, emergencies...represents a possible classification of business cards collected using the SEARCH function and, as well as simplifying internal research, is designed to help structure the digital cards collected and the exchange of information with individuals.

Categories
The categories: business, friends, culture, emergencies, experts, relations, sport, holidays are some of the possible categories of business cards collected using the SEARCH function and are designed to help structure the digital cards collected and the exchange of information with individuals.
One or more of your “Private” cards - cards whose information is visible only to those with whom you have a relationship - can also be assigned to each category.
Make a relation
Once you have found a card that interests you, click on “DETAILS” and click on "ANNOTATE CONTACT", and assign a category, describing the relationship in a few words in the “Brief note about the relations” field.
The category assigned to the subject in question will enable him/her/it to view the private cards relating to that particular category.
Messaging system
It's very simple. If you want to contact another airpim user you can click on his card and click on "write a message". You can also click on "Messages", select the person you want to write to and compose the message. You have 160 characters like an sms. The system is based on a direct and private chat, very user frendly as you know "airpim style" is.
Import
The import function allows you to import all your contacts from a vCard file or from your Gmail account. If you want to invite the contacts you are importing to joing airpim select the two boxes saying "Send a hello message to your contacts already in airpim" and "Send an invitation to your contacts not yet registered in airpim" so they can create an airpim digital card and after saving it in your address book you will not have to worry about updating their information anymore. At this point if you want to import your contacts from a vCard file, click on "Browse" and select the file you want to import, then click on "Import contacts from a vCard file". If you want to import your contacts from Gmail, click on "Import contacts from Gmail" and after your authentication to allow the import of contacts the process is done. At this point in the "Cards" section under "imported" you will always have all the contacts that you imported in a digital business card format, you can look for the contact you need simply using the search engine at the top and then clicking on "Blow".
